Pricing and delivery

Short version: you pay in dollars, you buy from a US retailer, and your order ships inside the United States. Matosurf is a European company, and that makes no difference to how your gear reaches you.

We don't sell anything

Matosurf is a publisher, not a shop. We write the guides, build the sizing tools, and point you at gear we think is right for what you told the calculator. The actual sale is between you and the retailer: they take the payment, they ship the parcel, and their returns and warranty terms are the ones that apply.

That is worth knowing before you order, because it means the retailer's page — not ours — is the authority on price, stock, delivery time and returns.

Your order does not cross an ocean

This is the part people ask about. We are established in Europe, so it is a fair question whether buying through us means an international order, a customs form and a three-week wait.

It does not. The retailers we recommend to US readers are US-based, so an order placed through one of our links is a domestic order: it ships within the United States, on the retailer's normal domestic delivery times, with no import duty and no customs paperwork. Wherever you are in the country, that is the retailer's shipping network doing the work — not a parcel leaving Europe.

Prices are in dollars, and we don't print them

Everything in this section of the site is priced in US dollars, at US retailers.

You will notice we rarely quote a figure. That is deliberate: nothing on this site keeps a price up to date automatically, and a stale price is worse than no price — it sets an expectation the checkout then breaks. Where we do give a range, it carries the date it was checked and the retailer it came from. Otherwise, check the product page before you order.

One thing to watch if you read the rest of our site: the UK and European sections quote pounds and euros, at European retailers, with European shipping. Those are not converted US prices and should not be read as a guide to what you will pay here.

How we make money

Some of the links we use to send you to a retailer earn us a commission on the sale, at no extra cost to you. Where a page carries one of those links, that page says so, at the top of the section that contains it. Where a page carries none, you will see no disclosure — a disclosure with nothing behind it is just noise.

It does not change what we recommend. The sizing tools work from figures published in our own buying guides, and they give the same answer whether or not there is a commission at the end of it.

Who we are

Matosurf is published by BeTranslated SL, a Spanish company registered at Calle Doctor Ferran 13, 46021 València, Spain. Publication director: Michaël Bastin. You can reach us at contact@matosurf.com.

Because the company is established in Spain, our legal notice and privacy policy are governed by Spanish and EU law, and the supervisory authority for data protection is the Spanish AEPD. That applies wherever you are reading from.

Questions we can't answer for you

Shipping cost, delivery window, stock, returns, exchanges and warranty claims all belong to the retailer you bought from. We have no visibility of your order and cannot look it up. If something goes wrong with a purchase, contact them first — and if you think we pointed you somewhere we shouldn't have, tell us at contact@matosurf.com, because that is worth knowing.
